SPATIAL STAGING

The core idea of the project is the cave allegory of Plato. Plato was an ancient Greek philosopher who, through the versatility of his talents and achievements, became one of the most famous and successful personalities in the history of thought. birth, so that they can not move and only in one direction to see the cave wall in front of them. Behind the prisoners stands a wall, above which a fire burns, which supplies the cave with light.

Behind the wall, other people carry different objects and statues around and sometimes speak. For the bound spectators, the events are only visible through the shadows on the cave wall in front of them, caused by the objects and the ever-burning fire. In the cave there is also an entrance to the light, which can be reached via a steep, bumpy climb.

The dialogue that leads Plato is about the idea of what would happen if one of the captives were to be released and forced to look around the cave, to look into the fire, to step through the entrance into the light and so on to confront him with unfamiliar reality.

Simply put, what we see does not always correspond to the truth.

So a photo studio was chosen and we started our project. For the implementation of the project building bricks were used.

Now I ask you to look at the following pictures:

You may be wondering what to look for in the pictures except clogs. Take a close look at the shadows. What do you recognize? Exactly, a gorilla head and a human head. To top it off, the two heads were facing each other.
